Town of Century has been informed by the Escambia County Property Appraiser that property values have risen $5.2 million for Fiscal Year 2023-2024.

“This is good for our Town and good for our property owners,” said Benjamin D. Boutwell, Mayor of Century, adding, “We expect property values to continue to increase year over year.  As areas to our south are moving north, we are preparing our infrastructure for future growth.”

Millage Rate Remains the Same

Mayor Boutwell announced that the Town will be holding its millage rate steady at 0.9204 for the eighth consecutive year, noting that with property values increasing, additional revenue will be generated.  The expected increase in property tax revenue is estimated to be $4,790.

Positive Impact on Citizens

Mayor Boutwell stated that the Town of Century will be able to use the additional revenue generated from this increase to continue its commitment to improve streets and enhance other areas of the Town.
